In the past Gene Simmons and I have discussed what the magic was that linked Kiss and the fans. The answer finally dawned on me recently when Gene was discussing his childhood. He said, "Anybody can become anything they want. I'm the living example of it. I came here (the States) when I was nine, and it was like, 'This kid will never amount to anything.' 'Really? Watch this!' And since then I've dabbled with other stuff, and it should be further proof that you can do anything."

But after one listen to the return-to-form Revenge, with its stripped-down arrangements in songs like "Unholy," "Tough Love," and "Spit," you'd think this is a hard-rock band just hitting their peak.
