Alive Alive Alive Ohh!

by Joe Mackett

By Gene Simmons' own admission the question he's been asked most often over the past decade is 'When are Kiss going to release Alive III?'. I myself felt the urge when questioning Paul Stanley last year, he answered that, "We want to make it very special and great. We want to make sure that it's not a bad sequel to Alive II".

Kiss Is Back

by Chris Welch

Yes it was Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and friends returning to show that they are still metal giants.
'I Stole Your Love' was the unexpected opening song of the evening although this wasn't going to be the only suprise! Shortly before at the traditional 'meet and greet' backstage party Paul Stanley had promised an exceptional show. He proved thirty minutes later to have kept his word in every way. No expense had been spared in either the choice of songs, the extravagance stage performances or in the final display of pyrotechnics.

Kiss Alive Again

by HP Newquist and Rich Maloof

Anaheim, California, on Friday, January 19. Ace appeared in the Gibson booth to sign autographs while promoting his own line of Gibson strings (which one would expect him to be putting on Gibson Les Pauls). Across the hall, Gene unveiled his new bass, "The Punisher". The limited-edition instrument will be available for a mere $1500, and must be special-ordered.

Kiss This

by Jennifer Rose

In the past Gene Simmons and I have discussed what the magic was that linked Kiss and the fans. The answer finally dawned on me recently when Gene was discussing his childhood. He said, "Anybody can become anything they want. I'm the living example of it. I came here (the States) when I was nine, and it was like, 'This kid will never amount to anything.' 'Really? Watch this!' And since then I've dabbled with other stuff, and it should be further proof that you can do anything."

The Best Revenge

by Gerri Miller

Kiss emerged 20 years ago, loud, outrareous, over the top, and dressed to kill in flashy costumes and mask-like makeup. While the players and presentation have changed over the years, and experimental sojourns into new musical territory have been taken, the signature dual vocal, big rhythm, guitar-driven sound that is the heart and soul of Kiss has remained constant.

Kiss And Tell

by Jeff Kitts

Ace Frehley is pissed off, and with good reason. It's May 18th, the day his former Kiss bandmates are to be honored by the city of Los Angeles and Hollywood's Rock Walk association for 20 years of rock and roll greatness. So where is Ace? At Guitar World's New York City headquarters, explaining why he isn't at the ceremony. Did he just refuse to join current Kiss members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in immortalizing his hand prints in the Rock Walk's wet cement?

Kiss Bears Sweet 'Revenge'

by Gary Cee

Kiss calls their new album Revenge, but it is really their 24th release? Depends who you ask. If you don't count the imports, solo releases and greatest-hits collections, it's more like the 18th. But after one listen to the return-to-form Revenge, with its stripped-down arrangements in songs like "Unholy," "Tough Love," and "Spit," you'd think this is a hard-rock band just hitting their peak.

Decade of Decadence

by Andy Bradshaw

Kiss bassist and vocalist Gene Simmons reckons the last ten years have been 'a complete fuckin' waste of time'! Excessive excesses, too much Pop and barely enough Metal have not made Gene a happy demon! On the eve of their major U.K. dates, Simmons candidly discusses his dissatisfaction with the past and why forthcoming album 'Revenge' instilled a new hunger in the band.

Facing the Music

With Kiss, things are never exactly what they appear to be. For more than 20 years, these legendary rock and roll masters have continually connived, confused and confounded the music masses with their drastically shifting images and ever-changing lineups.
